Liver Disease in Dogs: How Gently-Cooked Nutrition Can Help

By Kelly Gredner, RVT, VTS (Nutrition) ·

Dogs with liver disease are generally fed diets that are highly digestible, palatable, calorie-dense and served in small, frequent meals. Protein should be adequate and high quality - restriction is not routinely required and may be detrimental - while sodium is typically reduced below 0.3% on a dry matter basis. Feeding plans must be veterinarian-directed.
