Are You Itching To Know If Your Pet Has Allergies?

March 12, 2025

As the Cofounder of Tom&Sawyer for over 10 years, I have had the pleasure of meeting several dedicated professionals in the pet industry. Some are dedicated AND extremely knowledgeable in their area of expertise and this interview showcases one of those people, board certified veterinary dermatologist, Dr. Becky Valentine, of Pet Derm in Calgary, Alberta.

Tom&Sawyer animal nutritionist, Hannah Godfrey, and I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Becky Valentine to ask some of those "burning" questions about potential allergies and the role of food.

The questions may sound familiar and they actually came from selected questions asked by our Tom&Sawyer customers.

We hope that you find the interview as informative as we did!

Our limited ingredient and novel protein recipes were developed to help with some food sensitivities and allergies.

  • What We See in Summer Bowls: How Hydration Changes the Way Dogs and Cats Eat in JulyJuly is National Pet Hydration Awareness Month, and if you pay close attention to your pet's bowl during the warmer months, something shifts. Dogs get slower about finishing their meals. Cats grow even more selective than usual. These changes aren't random.
